ADVOCATING FOR KIDS IN FOSTER CARE IN PALO PINTO AND PARKER COUNTY
Child Advocacy & Foster Care Support
When a child enters the child welfare system due to abuse or neglect, a judge appoints CASA Hope for Children to be their voice in court. Our trained CASA volunteers (Court Appointed Special Advocates) stand by children throughout their foster care journey, ensuring their best interests are always the priority.
Each child is matched with a dedicated CASA volunteer who spends time visiting the child in their placement, getting to know them, and understanding their needs. After reviewing case details, the volunteer collaborates with CASA program staff to create a personalized plan that supports the child’s physical, emotional, and educational well-being.
Before every court hearing, CASA volunteers prepare a detailed court report that highlights the child’s progress, needs, and recommendations for their future. Judges carefully review these reports, along with other case documents, before making critical decisions that affect the child’s life.
CASA Hope for Children advocates first for safe family reunification whenever possible. When reunification isn’t safe or appropriate, CASA volunteers work to secure a stable, permanent home—whether with relatives, trusted family friends, or adoptive families. Through every step, CASA volunteers remain a constant presence, ensuring the child feels supported and that their voice is heard.
Our CASA volunteers come from all walks of life, reflecting the communities and neighborhoods of the children we serve. Each volunteer completes comprehensive training to learn how to advocate effectively for children in foster care. With their help, we can provide consistent support to vulnerable children who need stability the most.
Beyond direct advocacy, CASA Hope for Children is committed to child abuse prevention, foster care reform, and community education. We work to raise awareness about the realities of child abuse and neglect, while also advocating for policies that strengthen the child welfare system and protect children for generations to come.
